House Parties

Does Judaism take a position on preemptive war?  What’s our story with body piercing and tattoos?  Do we really think we’re “chosen?” Okay, let’s just go there: What’s the point of our existence on Earth?

For many of us it’s been years since our conversations about world affairs or personal issues included a Jewish dimension. We get input and information from so many sources- the news, the web, our parents, our friends, what we see on the street (and, let’s be honest, what Jon Stewart tells us is important).  Rarely do we create opportunities to talk about the issues that really matter, informed and challenged by knowing what Jewish tradition might have to say on them.

A Mishkan House Party is a way to bring together you and a few friends over good wine and food, to focus in on the issue of your choice and bring Jewish text and tradition to bear on it – you suggest the issue and our rabbi will work out the Jewish angle on it.

It’s about conversation and connection.  Get in touch to find out where our next House Party will be, and how to get in on it.
