Shabbat Morning at the Mishkan Space
February 22 @ 9:45 am - 3:30 pm
One Prayer Deep Dive | 9:45 – 11 am
Show up to study one prayer in depth – learning its history and deeper meaning through meditation, study, and of course song. Over the year, we hope to study the major Jewish prayers and themes in this way. Grown-ups, feel free to drop your kids at free babysitting during this learning workshop.
Parsha Study | 11 – noon
Parsha study led by Mishkanite and Jewish Studies Professor Bob Cohn on “The ‘Hebrew’ Slave: What’s In a Name?”
Rise and Shine Family Shabbat | 11:15 am – noon
Experience the joy of Shabbat together as a family. This program is a great fit for families with kids 0-8, but everyone is welcome (including grown-ups without kids!)
B’nai Tefilah | 11:15 am – noon
A special Shabbat morning for families with 4th – 7th graders! We invite you to pray, learn, and get to know other families in our b’nai mitzvah community. We’ll meet at the Mensch Academy space to celebrate Shabbat together through Torah learning, discussions, and lunch.
Singing as a Spiritual Practice | 1 – 2:30 pm
Directly after services, stick around for schmoozing and bagel lunch followed by Singing as a Spiritual Practice. Whether you just love to sing and wish you knew all the words or want to perfect the harmonies you hear during Shabbat, join us to sing, experiment and harmonize together. Create powerful moments with other people through group singing.
