SUMMARY:Our Palestine Question: A Conversation With Author Geoffrey Levin
DESCRIPTION:Join author Geoffrey Levin for a conversation with Rabbi Lizzi about his new book\, Our Palestine Question: Israel and American Jewish Dissent\, 1948-1978. In this book\, Levin recovers the voices of American Jews who\, in the early decades of Israel’s existence\, called for an honest reckoning with the moral and political plight of Palestinians. In reconstructing this hidden history\, Levin lays the groundwork for more forthright debates over Palestinian rights issues\, American Jewish identity\, and the U.S.-Israel relationship more broadly. The book has won multiple awards\, including the American Jewish Historical Society Academic Council’s Saul Viener Book Prize\, awarded biennially to an outstanding book focused on the history of Jews in the Americas. \nRegister
