SUMMARY:Friday Night Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:Join us for music from our Davening Team\, uplifting liturgy\, and reflection from our rabbis. Music\, prayer and special guests will differ week to week\, but you can always count on this Friday wind down to leave you feeling nourished and inspired. \nDuring the High Holidays this past year\, Rabbi Lizzi shared the life-changing impact of her experience as a bone marrow donor through Gift of Life. Inspired by her story\, we’re excited to bring this opportunity to the Mishkan community by hosting a donor drive tonight. Volunteers will be on site with swabbing stations to help participants complete their swab kits and learn whether they are eligible to become a donor—and potentially save a life. For more information about Gift of Life\, visit their website. \nWatch the livestream on Mishkan’s YouTube channel. \nLooking to help out? We’re in need of volunteer greeters to welcome people into Mishkan before services. You can sign up here or email Michael at michael@mishkanchicago.org for more information!

SUMMARY:Get to Know Your Neighbor Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:We’re off this week\, so we thought it was time for another edition of Get To Know Your Neighbor Shabbat! Generous Builders are opening up their homes and providing a main course for this potluck-style meal. Read on for more info from each host\, then click here to register! \nIrving Park: Hosted by Yonatan and Susan Shamgar\, this is a relaxing Shabbat dinner (starting at 6pm) with a candlelight and blessings followed by good food and good conversation! One dog and two cats. \nLincoln Park: Hosted by Linda Kellough\, this vegetarian Shabbat is open to adults of any age. Easy to get to by public transit! Welcome guests who’d like to sing or lead some prayers\, but please come even if that isn’t you! From Linda: “I’m 72 and love cross generational gatherings. I travel to strange places\, lead volunteer service trips out west\, spent a summer at Pardes— I bet you have interesting experiences to share too.” \nAndersonville: Hosted by Andi Friedman\, this family-oriented Shabbat (starting at around 5:30 for appetizers\, 6:15 for dinner) has lots of toys and chaos. Expect a basic Shabbat service but they’d love for you to bring your own traditions if you’d like! \nRiver North: Hosted by Dakota and Richard Derryberry\, this kid-friendly Shabbat (starting at around 5:30) will be cozy\, chaotic\, and communal! Their building is accessible and there are no stairs or pets. \nEvanston: Hosted by Fay Bomberg and Dan Kaplan\, this vegetarian Shabbat (starting at around 7:00) is casual and open to singing! \nHorner Park: Hosted by Aliza Becker\, this vegetarian musical Shabbat (starting at 6:30pm) is in her longtime home. Mishkan Builder and professional musician Patricia Tyson will lead us in singing on piano after the dinner\, so please bring lyrics/music (if you have them.) Join us in an evening of ritual\, music\, fun and conversation. You are welcome to bring musical instruments! \nNorth Center: Hosted by Jenny Schaffer\, this Shabbat dinner (starting at around 6:30) will be in collaboration with the Miskhan Local Action Team and will be a meaningful\, curated group conversation focused on public safety and justice. Wear what you feel comfortable in\, nothing fancy necessary! \nNote that there are some stairs into the homes of each dinner except River North. \nRegister \nDon’t see your neighborhood listed? SUMMARY:Friday Night Shabbat — Featuring Jeremy Ben-Ami of J Street
DESCRIPTION:Tonight’s service will feature a guest drash by Jeremy Ben-Ami\, the president of J Street\, the political home for pro-Israel\, pro-peace\, pro-democracy Americans. After services\, you are invited to join us for snacks (catered by Schmaltz & Vinegar!) and a Q&A session with Jeremy to learn more about his work and how we can get involved. Thanks to Ari Levine for sponsoring kiddush in honor of their birthday! \nDuring the High Holidays this past year\, Rabbi Lizzi shared the life-changing impact of her experience as a bone marrow donor through Gift of Life. Inspired by her story\, we’re excited to bring this opportunity to the Mishkan community by hosting two donor drives during upcoming Shabbat services on 4/10/26 and 5/8/26. Volunteers will be on site with swabbing stations to help participants complete their swab kits and learn whether they are eligible to become a donor—and potentially save a life. \nWatch the livestream on Mishkan’s YouTube channel. \nFor more information about Gift of Life\, visit their website. \nLooking to help out? We’re in need of volunteer greeters to welcome people into Mishkan before services. You can sign up here or email Michael at michael@mishkanchicago.org for more information!

SUMMARY:No Kings Rally: Pre-Protest Singing and Prayer
DESCRIPTION:March 28 might have the largest nonviolent protest planned in American history\, but it’s also Shabbes! So if you’re a Jew looking to show up at the rally\, and you’d also love to recognize and celebrate Shabbat\, we’ll be gathering at the Southeast Corner of Monroe and Columbus (look for the red pomegranate) to get spiritually uplifted and connected before the rally with Jewish songs\, prayers\, and divrei hafgana (protest sermonettes!) We invite you to join us early at 11:30 AM for singing and prayer in honor of Shabbat and the fight for a Pharaoh-free world! \nBring your voice\, your signs\, your timbrels\, and your tallis! Bring some challah and some grape juice — or anything that you’d like to share to make this feel a little more shabbes’y — before the rally begins at 1:30 PM. \nNo Kings is being organized by Indivisible Chicago and Hands Off Chicago. The march will begin at Butler Field in Grant Park (East Jackson Drive & South Columbus Drive) and run from 1:30 – 4:30 PM. More information is available here. \nFill out this form to let us know you’ll be there and so that we can get ahold of you if our meeting location changes.
