Rachel earned her BA and Master of Arts in Teaching at Brown University, where she studied human biology and secondary education and was involved in the campus Hillel and interfaith organizations. After teaching middle school in Oakland and Hebrew school in LA (at our sister congregation IKAR!), Rachel spent a summer at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. She worked with various Jewish environmental organizations, including Hazon and the Adamah Farm, and through her work at Mishkan and as a rabbinical student, is now fully dedicated to Jewish learning, climate education, and social justice. Outside of school and work, she loves adventuring with her husband and 2-year-old son.
