Mishkan Chicago Purim Party 2025 at Chop Shop

Virtual Tickets Available!

You Are So Not Invited to Mishkan’s BMitzvah: Purim 2025

Thirteen: the age when a Jewish youth becomes a Jewish adult, and the age when your favorite spiritual community has the budget to throw itself a rager! This year Mishkan Chicago turns 13, so of course we’re throwing the raddest, baddest party on Purim to celebrate. Wondering if you’re invited? As if! You are, like, so not on the guest list.

Okay, that was a little harsh. We GUESS you’re invited, because our mom said we HAD to invite everyone in the community. So pick out your costume and head down to Chop Shop in Wicker Park to celebrate Purim (and Mishkan turning 13!) with us. Cocktail Hour, featuring heavy apps and 2 drinks per ticket (cocktail or mocktail) begins at 6:00 pm. The program, which features the work of our all-star Spiel Team and a full Megillah reading, starts at 7:15pm and is followed by an afterparty. What did your BMitzvah have? Just a DJ? That’s so 2008.

Dancing Queens: Mishkan Family Purim

Welcome to the palace, Queens! Get all dressed up in your costumes and join us at our palace (the Copernicus Center) for a day of family Purim fun including activity stations, performances, and a whole lot of hamantaschen. For grades K-5, doors open at 12:45 pm with an interactive Megillah reading in English and Hebrew led by Merriam, America’s Favorite Drag Bubbe, kicking off at 1pm, followed by a screening of a family-friendly spiel created by Mishkan’s Teen Design Lab a performance by our Teen Davening Team, and games and activities! Then, those with children under 5 are invited to join us from 3:30 – 4:30 pm for activities and music. This program is part of a PJ Partner grant from our friends at JUF and PJ Library. A sensory-friendly space will be provided.
