Ilana Abusch

Ilana Abusch is an educator, writer, performer, and recent graduate of Northwestern University. Originally from White Plains, NY, Ilana started her work as an educator as the Junior Congregation Leader at her home synagogue, Bet Am Shalom. She taught theatre to children and teens at The Play Group Theatre, also serving as their Outreach Coordinator. Since making Chicago her home, she taught at Tiny Tots Incorporated, a Hebrew/English preschool in Lincoln Park. As a playwright, Ilana focuses on Theatre for Young Audiences and Jewish theatre — if you want to read a play about the tooth fairy or the ritual of the mikvah, she’s got you covered either way. Ilana is so excited to be working at Mishkan and sharing her love of Torah with the BMitzvah students and entire Mishkan community!
