Mishkan Chicago is proud to announce our partnership with Edot HaMidwest: The Midwest Regional Jewish Diversity Collaborative. Mishkan is the inaugural member of the newly formed Edot Synagogue Partnership, a Program that focuses on training and coaching synagogues to strengthen Jewish diversity and Jewish racial justice. Edot Midwest Regional Jewish Diversity Collaborative is a set of partnerships and activities focused on affirming Jewish racial and ethnic diversity across communities in the Midwest region and supporting the leadership of Jewish People of Color (JOCs) as the driver for change.

Builder Stacy Broxman will serve as Mishkan’s Edot Fellow.

Mishkan Builder Stacy Broxman (she/her, they/them) will serve as Mishkan’s Edot Fellow and will lead Mishkan’s educational and social programming in Jewish diversity and racial justice. Stacy is a Chicagoland native, and has recently returned home after a 5 year stint in LA. Stacy holds a BS in Business Management and Economics from the University of Illinois – Chicago, and a MA in Sound Design from the Academy of Art. She currently works as an Account Manager for a SaaS company based in New York. Stacy is passionate about early and equal access to education, and has recently begun serving on the Associate Board for the Big Shoulders Fund. They are looking forward to the opportunity to help build community among Jews of color as well as amplify the voices and visibility of JOCs in the larger Mishkan community. Stacy and her wife Michelle met at Mishkan in 2013. They live in Chicago with their very spoiled dog Tomato.

This fellowship is generously supported by two anonymous Mishkan Builders. If you are interested in learning more about this partnership or getting involved in Mishkan’s programming, please contact Rebecca Stevens at [email protected]
