Adult BMitzvah Cohort
Never had a BMitzvah? Or maybe you did, but you want another crack at it now that you have a deeper sense of who you are as a Jewish adult. Our Adult BMitzvah Cohort is an opportunity to dive deeper into your Judaism by embracing an important ritual of Jewish adulthood. Together, we’ll explore what it means to be a Jew now, build skills in Torah reading, and develop our own interpretations of text.
The cohort unfolds over three modules: in April, we explore what it means to become BMitzvah and our own Jewish journeys; in May we will learn trope; and in July we will write own drash (short sermons). We’ll culminate with two Saturday mornings in August, where we’ll learn the flow of the service and celebrate together as you mark this moment publicly with the Mishkan community. Cohort participants must be Mishkan Builders and have learned the aleph bet prior to beginning the class (there are apps!)
