Caregivers of Neurodiverse Children Support Group (9 and under)

08/30/2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT

This is a support group for caregivers of children ages 9 and under, who identify as neurodiverse or experience social-emotional, cognitive, or behavioral challenges. Facilitated by Sara Hood MA, we will create a space for caregivers to talk about the unique challenges and joys in raising differently wired kids. Resources and outside referrals can be provided as part of the support group. This group will meet 12 times in 2023. Due to limited capacity and in order to create a meaningful experience for all participants, we ask that you commit to the year. We know things come up but please do your best to attend the majority of sessions. Sara received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. She currently works as a child and family therapist at the Virginia Frank Child Development Center in West Rogers Park. She has experience working with neurodiverse children and their families, with a special focus on Autism and ADHD. In addition to her work at Virginia Frank, Sara has spent the last three years working specifically with children diagnosed with Autism in an outpatient behavioral health setting. She is looking forward to collaborating with the families that Mishkan serves

This support group will meet on the following dates:
4/20, 5/4, 6/8, 6/29, 7/20, 8/10, 8/31, 9/21, 10/19, 11/9, 12/6 (WEDNESDAY to accommodate start of Hanukkah), 12/21
