Destruction is one of the dominant themes of the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’av, which marks the loss of the First and Second Temples. But is destruction always a bad thing? As our texts tell us, destruction often sets the scene for acts of creation and regeneration. In this class we will explore the questions: what in our own lives needs to be destroyed? How we can rebuild? Where is God in all of this? Join us to explore these concepts through the lens of text and poetry.
