Join our 40s+ social group for a special trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center. We will mingle over refreshments, followed by a docent-led tour of the new special exhibition “Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808-1865.” Originally curated by the Historic New Orleans Collections, this exhibit showcases more than 75 original items, including first-person slave narratives, oral histories, prints and other artifacts. We will then visit the interactive, holographic, “Survivor Stories Experience” theater in the Take A Stand Center.
Participants may come before the event or stay until the museum’s closing at 5:00 pm, in order to enjoy other exhibits.
Please register – space is limited to 35.
