Join Mishkan Chicago and Lawndale Christian Community Church for a new series bringing together adults in their 20s and 30s to share meals, study sacred text, and build relationships across lines of race, class, and faith. Over four gatherings hosted in each of our communities, we’ll explore biblical texts about land, place, and belonging — surfacing both shared and divergent understandings of our shared scripture while engaging in honest conversation about racism, antisemitism, and white supremacy. Along the way, we’ll tour Lawndale and Maxwell Street — two Chicago neighborhoods with rich Jewish and African American histories — and taste some of the best food our cultures have to offer.
