Shavuot is a celebration of Torah – revelation, enlightenment, growth, creativity, wisdom, knowledge, and yes…dairy?! We are celebrating the revelation with a two-part Torah reading at Welles Park.
9:30 – 11 am
Adult Torah Reading and Study
Adults are invited to join the three Rabbis for Torah reading and learning. Coffee and donuts provided. There will be three conversation groups going on at once based on the three texts we read on Shavuot:
The Book of Ezekiel — Judaism and Psychedelics w/ R’Lizzi
The Ten Commandments — Is This The Best We Could Do? w/ R’Steven
The Book of Ruth — Comfort in Times of Sorrow, and Joy in Chosen Family w/ R’Deena
11 am – 11:30
Family Torah Reading and Pizza
We’ll recreate the experience of receiving the Torah at Sinai with an interactive Ten Commandments reading and a chance to get close to the scroll.
11:30 (and onward)
Community Picnic
Everyone is invited to join for a very cheesy pizza picnic and park hangout.
