High Holidays at Mishkan are a chance to ground ourselves in a reflective and joyful space, and our family programs are second to none!
This year, choose from a full suite of programs, designed just for your family. Kids and grown-ups alike are invited to join us for our Early Childhood Service and K-5 Family Service. Then, come by the Museum of Awe, a series of interactive installations and hands-on activities that invite you to reflect and respond to the themes and teachings of the High Holidays! We will also offer drop off programs for our Builder tweens and teens.

A Note On Tickets:
If you would like your child to attend the main service with you, you’ll need to purchase a ticket to the main service. If you and your children only want to attend the family service and family programs, you only need to register for the “family service only” ticket. Every ticket purchased for the Main Service on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur includes admittance for one attendee to our Family Services! Please purchase a ticket or reserve a spot for every member of your party over age the age of 2.
High Holiday Family Programs Schedule
Rosh Hashanah — 9/12
Early Childhood Service (Annex): 9:30 – 10:15 am
A musical service for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. Grandparents and other loved ones welcome! Children under 2 do not need a ticket.
K – 5 Service (Annex): 10:30 – 11:15 am
A hands-on learner’s service for elementary-age children and their families. Grandparents and other loved ones welcome!
Museum of Awe (all ages, Annex): 11:15 am – 12:15 pm
Led by our Teen Design Lab, these interactive installations and activities weave together games, Torah texts, crafts and play to reflect on our lives and our hopes for the coming year!
Tween & Teen Nosh & Drash (Builder Only, Annex): 12:15 – 1:45pm
Join our Teen education team to explore the central themes of this holiday through the lens of environmentalism and sustainability with projects led by Mishkan Builder Ben Helphand (Executive Director of NeighborSpace). This program is only available to Builders with adolescents entering 6th-12th grade with break out groups by age. Lunch is included on Rosh Hashanah, and snacks for those who need it on Yom Kippur.
Lil’ Builder Drop-Off Childcare (Grades K – 5th, Upstairs Classrooms): 9:45 am – 1:45 pm
Drop off your child (grades K-2nd) for activities, a chaperoned trip down to the Family Services, and lunch! This program is only available to Builders and space is limited.
Second Day Rosh Hashanah (Welles Park) — 9/13
Babies, preschoolers, toddlers, and students K-2 are invited to join us along with their families for family singing at 10:00 am, followed by Rosh Hashanah crafts and learning. Grandparents and other loved ones welcome! 4th and 5th grade students can join Rabbi Julie for Rosh Hashanah games and activities. Stick around afterwards for a bring-your-own-picnic lunch and games in the park.
Yom Kippur — 9/21
