As we face the close of this year and the beginning of the next, JCFS Chicago and Maggie’s place are teaming up to dive deep into holding a Recovery-Mindset on Teshuvah (atonement), Tefilah (prayer) and Tzedakah (justice). Rabbi and Chaplain Robert Jury will guide us in classic Jewish Recovery-Oriented prayer and classic Meditation Practices. We’re going to explore how it feels to practice ancient, mystical ways of atoning, meditating, praying and connecting with a Higher Power. Whether Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) is your happy place or this feels way out of your Recovery comfort zone, you will be welcomed and supported in this space.
Come at 6:30 for a shared meal. At 7, we will dive into an hour long 11-step Kabbalistic journey.
The program is intended for people in recovery and allies.
