Kick off reproductive Shabbat weekend by taking action! According to Planned Parenthood “Crisis pregnancy centers (also called CPCs or “fake clinics”) are clinics or mobile vans that look like real health centers, but they’re run by anti-abortion activists who have a shady, harmful agenda: to scare, shame, or pressure you out of getting an abortion, and to tell lies about abortion, birth control, and sexual health.” These centers are all over the country, and take advantage of people. The organization Reproductive Transparency Now help create lasting Google reviews so that folks can be accurately informed about which kind of center they are actually going to. We will be led by Builder Jenn Bigelow and Lisa Battisfore. Lisa (she/her) is the Founder and President of Reproductive Transparency Now (RTN), an Illinois-based nonprofit organization dedicated to raising public awareness of CPCs. RTN advances this mission on a local, state, and national scale through direct action, education, and advocacy. During this session, we will give a brief overview about CPCs and how they threaten public health and bodily autonomy. Then, we will roll up our sleeves together and learn how to leave honest and effective Google Reviews that can help warn unsuspecting people about what to expect from anti-abortion CPCs.
