They came to kill us, we survived, let’s eat (we’ll provide dinner before sunset). If relentless positivity and optimism is how we live as Jews 364 days a year, Tisha B’Av is the literal exact opposite – basically this is the only one day on the Jewish calendar that embodies pain, grief, sadness and even pessimism. This day, commemorating the destruction of the ancient Temples in Jerusalem and many other historic Jewish tragedies, is hitting rock bottom. Join us to wallow. And then, to get up, dust ourselves off, and start the journey toward rebirth at the High Holidays.
