Considering Conversion

Whether you have been considering conversion for years or are just dipping your toe in, come learn with us.

Mishkan’s Conversion Cohort is led by Mishkan Rabbi Jeff Stombaugh and veteran conversion educator Rabbi Allison Tick Brill, with guest appearances from Rabbis Lizzi and Lauren and other movers and shakers in the Chicago Jewish scene.

This is a class for people on the path toward Judaism, with no commitment to convert. We’ll dive deep into our learning including topics on: Shabbat, Torah, Jewish history, holidays, lifecycles, Jewish values,

Participants commit to:

  • Learning with curiosity and open mindedness.

  • Sharing space, opinions, beliefs, and questions.

  • Respecting others’ perspectives, boundaries, and beliefs.

  • Acting kindly, creating physical and emotional safety.

  • Being generous and giving the benefit of the doubt, as everyone is coming with different levels of familiarity, comfort, and context to this Jewish space.
