Looking for a Purim party in Chicago? Trying to tune into a virtual Purim spiel? Hoping to catch a Megillah reading? Searching for a Purim party for the whole family? Mishkan Chicago has you covered! Check out our outrageously funny Purim parties below, as well as an idea for fulfilling the mitzvah of Mishloach Manot.
Succession 5784: A Mishkan Chicago Purim Party
With every tick of the stock ticker and ring of the closing bell, all clocks count down to one fateful moment: March 23rd, the selling of Mishkan Chicago to its community. Join us as we navigate the existential angst and cutthroat negotiations that arise when a Founding Rabbi goes on sabbatical and leadership hangs in the balance. With your purchase of a Purim ticket, you’ll receive not only admission and two drinks but also a share of major, world-shaking corporation Mishkan Chicago, putting the power to save the future of your favorite spiritual community in your hands. Featuring our all-star spiel team in a live performance and full megillah reading, this is the one (and maybe the only) board meeting that will keep you laughing all night long. Cocktail Hour (with food) begins at 6:30pm. The program will begin at 8pm, starting with Havdalah, followed by the Spiel and a full Megillah reading (approx. 8:45pm start).
Mishkan’s Magical Family Purim
Ta-da! We’re off to Rogers Park Montessori School for a magic themed Purim party. What’s in our bag of tricks? Costumes, skits, zaniness in the spirit of Purim, and lots of hamantaschen. Children ages 5 and under are invited to explore the story of Purim through music, activities, and a costume parade from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Then, kids in grades K-5 will gather from 1:00 – 3:00 pm for a family-friendly shpiel featuring Mishkan tweens & teens, as well as interactive stations to try your luck and experience the magic of Purim. A sensory-friendly space will be provided. Tickets are $10/person (half off for Builders); 2 and under are free.
Mishloach Manot
Please join us in fulfilling the Purim mitzvah of mishloach manot – sending food & gifts to friends! We look forward to distributing thematic goodie bags to nearly 400 households of Mishkanites over the course of the Purim holiday. Our mishloach manot will include our list of sponsors who send their Purim greetings to the community. Sign up here.
